North Sulawesi is famous for its underwater world by divers from all over the world. But when visiting this destination there are some great activities beyond diving, which give you the opportunity to see amazing wildlife, beautiful sceneries, friendly people and arts and cultures making your experience truly unforgettable.


This 15 day trip will give you the opportunity to explore two of the most famous diving areas of North Sulawesi and experience some of the local traditions on your visit to Manado City and Tangkoko Jungle Tour.


Day 1:


Start you trip with a flight departing from London Heathrow in the morning with Singapore Airlines arriving Singapore on day 2 at 07:35 in the morning. On arrival in Changi International you have to make your way from terminal 3 to terminal 2 for your connection flight to North Sulawesi departing at 09:25.


Day 2:


On arrival in Manado you will be transferred to the Kungkungan Bay Resort and directed to the reception area for check in. Diving Schedules takes place in the morning and in the afternoon and you can start your diving adventure on your arrival day.


From day 3 to day 7:


Kungkungan Divers offers 2 dives a day in Lembeh Straits, an area that is simply the best place in the world for macro photography! Lembeh plays host to an abundance of weird and wonderful creatures to be found that cannot be found anywhere else. The shallow black sandy slopes are full of seahorses and nudibranches. Then there are the devilfish, dwarf lionfish, scorpion fish, pufferfish, octopus, pegasus sea moths, frogfish, ribbon eels, flying gunnards and many more. This is truly a one-off opportunity for all photographers and anyone looking for the unusual and unseen.


On one of the afternoons why not explore the region and go on one of the Tangkoko Jungle Tours departing from the resort at 1.30pm and returning around 7pm. On this trip you will be taken to Tangkoko Duasudara Nature Reserve where you can see a variety of wildlife. One of the highlights of this trip is the nocturnal ‘Tarsier’ (Tarsius Spectrum), a tiny monkey, common in Northern Sulawesi. The total body length of this little creature is approx 10cm with a body weight of little over 100 grams. With some luck you can even encounter Black Macaques a larger monkey with no tail, KusKus, Hornbills the largest birds living in Tangkoko and lots of other flora and fauna.


Day 8:


On day 8 you will be transferred from the Kungkungan Bay Resort to the Kima Bajo Resort where you will stay for 6 nights. The Kima Bajo is an upscale resort in an exotic location offering accommodation in a range of bungalows and villas to suit most budgets. Depending on your arrival time at the Kima Bajo you can start your diving adventure in this part of North Sulawesi strait away.


From day 9 to day 13


While staying at the Kima Bajo Resort you will be diving with Eco Divers . The dive centre is attached to the resort and they offer a great level of service taking care of all your needs. Eco Divers daily dive program to Bunaken National Park offers a two-tank morning trip and one-tank afternoon trip. The morning trip departs at 8.15am and the boats return at around 1pm, so guests can enjoy lunch at Kima Bajo Resort. The afternoon trip departs at 3pm and returns by around 4.30-5.00pm.


If you are interested in the culture of a place you visit, then on one of the afternoons when you are not diving, visit Manado City where you can experience a bit of the local life style and do some shopping mostly based on unique handicrafts and souvenirs to take home with you.


Day 14:


On day 14 you will need to check out of the hotel in the morning for your transfer to the airport. You will be picked up from the hotel reception at around 10am. The flight departs from Manado at 13.50 with Singapore Airlines arriving Singapore at 17:05. Your International flight will depart at 23:45 so you have a few hours to explore the airport shops. Additional nights in Singapore can be organized at the beginning or at the end of this trip upon request.
